Story has it that Athena, the Greek goddess, gifted the Olive branch to the Athenians, to bring them prosperity and peace. We tried to bring that Mediterranean gift of Athenian blessing to the soils of Bengal.
The experiment with olive, in search of an avenue towards alternative farming, does not go off as expected; it is too early to write them off either. Instead, parallely we started cultivating diverse tapestry of crops and fruits, such as dragon fruit, mosambi, custard apple and pomegranate, each carefully selected to thrive in the challenging climate of Purulia.
At our farm, we don't just try to grow food; we bring hope, dignity and strength in the lives of the rural people. Our journey began in 2018, with a vision to bring life to the barren land of Purulia, while uplifting the marginalized communities living in this area. Our architect, Shri Bidyut Roy, a renowned artist and practicing expert in architecture, especially of the indigenous mud houses, trained at Shantiniketan, has rendered his imagination to create a harmonious blend of Bengal’s traditional mud houses and modern comfort and luxury.
